   Omaha Lancers Hockey Club: RECRUITS
A TRADITION OF SUCCESS...
Throughout both collegiate and professional levels of hockey, the Omaha Lancers are considered to be one of the top Junior Tier I programs in the United States. A leading member of the United States Hockey League (USHL), the Lancers organization is second to none in providing gifted players a premier training ground to develop skills for the transition to future college and professional play.

The Lancers are rich in tradition having won a total of 13 championships in the team’s 24 years of existence, the most of any USHL franchise. That list includes five USHL Anderson Cup Championships, seven USHL Clark Cup Playoff Championships, and two Junior National Championships.

Yet most important, the Lancers have become a pipeline for players heading to the NCAA Division-I hockey ranks, as over 200 Lancer players have been granted DI scholarships. Additionally, many Lancers move on toward their ultimate goal of playing in the National Hockey League, including former standouts Keith Ballard (Florida Panthers), Matt Carle (Philadelphia Flyers), Joe Corvo (Carolina Panthers), Dan Ellis (Nashville Predators), Ryan Malone (Tampa Bay Lightning), Drew Miller (Detroit Redwings), Jed Ortmeyer (San Jose Sharks) and Paul Stastny (Colorado Avalanche).

The Lancers have also been one of the most successful amateur sports franchises at the turnstile, as home games at the Omaha Civic Auditorium are played to crowds of 4,000-plus fans on a regular basis. Even though our players are amateurs, they are treated like professionals by both fans and media alike.

As the tradition and reputation of the Lancers continues to grow, so too does the character of every team member. We take incredible pride in being the driving force in the development of our players. But more importantly is the pride in developing these young men into honest and disciplined individuals who are committed to excellence both on and off the ice.

HOW TO BECOME A LANCER...
We strongly believe the Lancers are a cut above the rest when it comes to providing a first-class setting for a young man to develop socially, athletically and academically. If you are a player that is interested in introducing yourself to our coaching staff, please download the Recruit Athletic and Academic Questionnaire and return it to our office as indicated. We have found the questionnaire to be very beneficial in our recruiting process of prospective players, as it provides us a valuable insight into not only one's athletic ability, but academic performance as well.
