Dear Prospective Player,
The Omaha Lancers have built a strong winning tradition the past 24 years, winning a total of eight championships in the last 10 seasons alone. Omaha has become a pipeline for players heading to NCAA Division-1 hockey programs as over 210 players have accepted scholarships to the most prestigious programs in the country. 18 Lancers players accepted scholarships this past season alone.
With that in mind we must constantly work our recruiting efforts to scout young, potential players for the future. We are currently in heavy preparation for our Future Prospect Camps, scheduled to be held during the months of July and August in: 1) Grapevine, Texas; 2) El Segundo, California; and 3) Elmsford, New York. Players with birth years 1992 thru 1996 are eligible to attend these camps.
Head Coach and General Manager, Bliss Littler, will be in attendance to both coach and direct each camp personally, and additional Lancers coaching and scouting staff will be on-site to evaluate players. This is an ideal opportunity for players to be introduced to our coaching staff, especially as we look to secure the final few roster spots for the upcoming season and continue to recruit for the 2011/2012 season and beyond.
Players will be provided an opportunity to showcase their skills, with camp format consisting of a number of daily on-ice sessions. The majority of each will be high-paced, full-game scrimmages. Individual skill assessment will also be included throughout the weekend. Coach Littler will offer a brief seminar to players and parents during the weekend to discuss the Omaha Lancers recruiting process, the United States Hockey League, and junior hockey as a whole. A short question-and-answer session will follow.
If you would like to attend one of the Futures Camps, please download the three forms below, complete them in their entirety and return to our office by fax at (402) 934-4613 no later than July 9th. A camp entry fee of $300 is charged, to cover the cost of production of the camp. This may be paid by major credit card, as is indicated on the camp application. Additional information regarding check-in time, team assignment, ice times, etc., will be emailed with your camp confirmation once you application is received.
Positions are limited to a maximum of 120 players per camp, and have filled very quickly in past years. Therefore it is recommended that you fax your completed application and accompanying forms to our office as early as possible to secure a position. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis through Friday, July 9th or until each camp is full, whichever comes first.
Also, per USA Hockey mandate, to participate in camp you MUST be registered with USA Hockey as a member for the 2010-2011 season. Note: Your 2009/2010 registration number cannot be accepted, per USA Hockey. If you have not already done so, please go to USA Hockey’s home page at www.usahockey.com, click on the “Register Online” icon on the right hand side of the page, and follow the steps as prompted. When your registration is complete, a confirmation page/number can be printed. YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR NEW REGISTRATOIN NUMBER IN THE DESIGNATED AREA ON THE CAMP APPLICATION. Players will not be allowed to skate at camp this number is received. This confirmation number will be good for the entire 2010/2011 hockey season, no matter where you play.
A confirmation letter will be e-mailed to you upon receipt of your application, so please be sure to clearly PRINT a parent’s email address on the Tryout Camp Application form. If the application is received after the camp is full, your credit card will not be charged and your application will be shredded for security purposes. We cannot hold positions without all forms completed and payment received, so ensure everything is in order before returning your application to us.
We strongly believe the Lancers are a cut above the rest when it comes to providing a first-class setting for a young man to develop not only athletically, but academically and socially as well. We are looking for talented players who have their priorities in order . . . players who want to use the Omaha Lancers and the United States Hockey League as a stepping stone to Division-1 college hockey.
