OMAHA, NEThe Omaha Lancers in conjunction with the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that Lancers’ goaltender Jeff Teglia has been named USHL Goaltender of the Week for Week 17 of the 2009-2010 season.  It’s the third time this season Teglia has been recognized as the USHL’s Goaltender of the Week.  As such, the Bloomingdale, Illinois native is the only netminder in the league to capture Goaltender of the Week honors three times this season.

The second-year Lancers goaltender was brilliant in his two starts of the week as the Lancers earned a pair of road victories in Lincoln and Waterloo.  First, on Friday, Teglia turned aside all 31 shots he faced in a 7-0 shutout of the Stars.  The shutout was Teglia’s second of the season and Omaha’s fourth as a team.  The following evening, the 18-year-old netminder registered 30 saves on 31 Waterloo shots in a 2-1 win over the Black Hawks at Young Arena.  All tolled, Teglia surrendered just one goal in 120 minutes of crease duty on the weekend while posting a .985 save percentage (61 saves on 62 shots).

Through nearly two-thirds of the USHL’s regular season, Teglia leads all goaltenders with 21 wins while his .918 save percentage ranks second and his 2.29 goals-against average is fourth best.  The 2nd-year Lancers netminder also ranks second in the league in both minutes (1,732) and total saves (743).

The West Division-leading Omaha Lancers return to action tomorrow evening as they welcome the East Division and USHL-leading Green Bay Gamblers to the Omaha Civic Auditorium.  Opening face off is scheduled for 7:05 PM.  Tickets are currently available through the Qwest Center Box office from 10 AM – 6 PM and will also be on sale beginning tomorrow morning at 10 AM at the Omaha Civic Auditorium Box Office.  Tickets can also always be purchased through www.ticketmaster.com.
