Six Alumni Stay Alive in Playoffs

Four Former Lancers Playing for Kelly Cup, Two for Calder Cup.

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ralston, NE – Six former Lancers are still in the hunt for a championship at the professional level as the Kelly Cup, and Calder Cup Playoffs begin to wind down.

Three of the final four teams in the ECHL boast former Lancers (Manchester, Toledo, and Colorado), while two of the remaining six teams in the AHL have former Lancers. Manchester currently leads the South Carolina Stingrays two games to one in the Eastern Conference final, while the Colorado Eagles and Toledo Walleye are knotted up at one game each in the Western Conference Final. In the American Hockey League Adam Comrie’s Syracuse Crunch are tied 3-3 in the North Division Final, while Ben Marshall and the Providence Bruins trail the Hershey Bears 3-2 in the best of seven series.

ECHL:

Manchester vs. South Carolina

Joe Diamond (2007-08) - Manchester

Toledo vs. Colorado

Nolan Zajac (2011-12), Jeff Lerg (2003-05) – Toledo

Jake Marto (2005-07) – Colorado

AHL:

Syracuse vs. Toronto

Adam Comrie (2006-07) - Syracuse

Providence vs. Hershey

Ben Marshall (2010-11) – Providence.
