Lancers Acquire Abate from Capitols

Forward Tallied 42 points in NAHL During 2016-17 Season

Ralston, NE The Omaha Lancers acquired forward Joseph Abate from the Madison Capitols in exchange for Anthony Mastromonica the team announced Wednesday afternoon.

Abate, 18, played for the Janesville Jets in the NAHL last season. Committed to Wisconsin, the forward recorded 42 points in 53 games (13g, 29a). Abate was the Capitols fourth round (59th overall) pick in this summer’s Phase II USHL Draft. A native of Bloomingdale, IL, Abate has appeared in five USHL games, all with the Bloomington Thunder.

In exchange for Abate the Lancers sent Anthony Mastromonica to the Capitols. The 256th overall pick in the 2016 USHL Phase II Draft, Mastromonica played for South Kent Selects Academy U16 during the 2016-17 season while on the Lancers affiliate list.
