Lancers fall to USA, 5-1

Lancers set focus to Season Opener

Cranberry Township, PA -- The Omaha Lancers faced Team USA U18’s Saturday morning at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. This was the final game of the Lancers pre-season and of the USHL Fall Classic.

The first period was scoreless until Adam Samuelsson got Team USA on the board late with 2:52 left to play. 

Midway through the second period, Bode Wild found the back of the net on a power-play to give Team USA a 2-0 lead.

USA did not let off the attack in the third period as Jake Pivonka scored to put Team USA up 3-0. The Lancers got on the board when Christian O’Neill found the puck in traffic to bury a shot past Drew Deridder with 5:15 left to play. Team USA continued the scoring with two open net goals by Jonathan Gruden and Oliver Wahlstrom to give Team USA the 5-1 win.
