FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ralston, NE --- The Omaha Lancers opened up the regular season against the Tri-City Storm on Friday Night. The Lancers wore throwback jerseys to honor the 1990-91 team, the same team that Head Coach David Wilkie played for.

Late in the first period, Tyler Carpenter scored on a deflection, that got past Filip Larsson. The play started when Noah Cates had the puck in the near right-side-corner-board. Cates passed the puck to Marshall Rifai who brought it to the top of the slot and snapped a shot. Carpenter was there to put the deflection home past Larsson with 6:46 left to play in the period.

Early in the second period, Charlie Dovorany snuck the puck past Zach Driscoll to even the score 1-1.

Midway through the third period, Tri-City took the lead with a powerplay goal from Tyler Ward. The Lancers did not let up though, as they continued to play a very physical game and drove the shot on net as much as possible. The final score was 2-1 as the Lancers fell to the Storm.

The Lancers return to the ice Friday, October 13th against Sioux Falls Stampede. Tickets are available at the Ralston Arena Box Office or by visiting www.lancers.com/tickets. Full, Half and Flex plans are still available, call 402-344-PUCK.
