Lancers acquire defensemen, Travis Mitchell

Ralston, NE -- The Omaha Lancers made a trade deal with the Muskegon Lumberjacks Tuesday. 

The Lancers traded defenseman Nic Belpedio (2001) and a 3rd round phase two pick in the 2018 draft to the Lumberjacks. 

Belpedio, a Skokie, Illinois native, currently plays for the Chicago Mission U16. Last year the defenseman played in 16 games putting up 8 points (2 goals and 6 assists). 

In exchange for Belpedio and a 3rd round pick, Omaha received defenseman Travis Mitchell (1999). Mitchell, a South Lyon, Michigan native played in 38 games for the Lumberjacks last year. The defenseman rang in 6 points (2 goals and 4 assists) and is "C-rated" player according to the NHL Central Scouting Report. 

The Lancers return to the ice on Friday, October 27th to face the Des Moines Buccaneers. Faceoff is at 7:05 pm and can be heard on News Talk 1290 and seen on Hockey TV. Tickets are still available, visit the Ralston Arena box office or visit lancers.com for more information.
