Ralston, NE -- Omaha Lancers' affiliate Josh Groll (2001) has committed to play college hockey at the University of Michigan.

“It means a lot to have committed to a school with so much tradition and pride,” Groll said.

Groll, a native of San Diego, CA spent the last two years with the San Diego Gulls (15U and 16U). Last year he played 5 games with 12 points (4G 8A).

“Michigan liked the intense, physical and smart side of my game,” Groll said. “Which is what helped them notice me the most.”

Groll plays for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U. Currently, Groll has played 12 games this season with 24 points (11G, 13A).

“I’m very excited to have the great opportunities that are coming up in the near future and can’t wait to see what happens,” Groll said.

The Omaha Lancers return to the ice Friday, November 10th to face the Green Bay Gamblers at Ralston Arena. Tickets are still available and the game can be seen on Hockey TV and heard on KOIL News Talk 1290.
