Ralston, NE -- For the first time in his USHL career, Omaha Lancers goalie Zach Driscoll has been named the USHL’s goaltender of the week. Driscoll shares Player of the Week honors with Forward, Curtis Hall (Youngstown) and Defenseman, Julian Kislin (Youngstown).
"It's a very cool honor individually," Driscoll said, "but as a team, we played our best hockey of the season."
Driscoll, a native of Apple Valley, MN, stopped 44 of 45 shots during the two-game weekend against the Green Bay Gamblers. Driscoll also received his 3rd shutout of the season over that weekend.
Driscoll becomes the first Lancers player to be awarded the USHL Player of the Week honors this season. He currently holds a 5-3 record, 2.10 GAA, and a 0.916 SV%.
Driscoll's performance this year has placed him among the best goaltenders in the USHL. He currently sits at 4th place with 5 wins, 3 losses, 3 shutouts, 225 SA, 19 GA.
"Those were two really important wins for us to get our season going in the right direction, " Driscoll said.
The Lancers return to home ice Friday, November, 17th to face the Cedar Rapids Roughriders at 7:05 pm. Friday is also “Guns N’ Hoses” night at Ralston Arena.
