RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 2-1 on Friday night.
In the first period, Rhett Pitlick (13:17) scored in his first USHL game to get the Lancers ahead 1-0. The puck was sent from Richartz to Nelson, then Nelson took a shot from the high slot that was put in by Pitlick. The Lancers kept the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second frame, Grant Anderson (8:42) scored on the power-play to get the Lancers ahead 2-0. The Stars answered back to get the game 2-1 with a goal from Matthew Barbolini (12:12). Anderson’s goal would end up being the game winner as neither team scored in the third period. The Lancers improve to 19-21-4-4 with 46 points on the season.
