LINCOLN, NE - The Omaha Lancers closed out the weekend rivalry season against the Lincoln Stars with another win on Saturday night by a final score of 5-2.
In the second period, Daniel Hilsendager (1:45) ripped the puck from the corner board to beat Jacob Mucitelli to get the Lancer their first goal on the night. Hilsendager’s goal was his first of his USHL career. Later in the period, Logan Will (12:18) took the Lancers lead up to 2-0. Second later, Brock Bremer (13:00) got the Stars on the board to make the score 2-1. Minutes later, Jaxon Nelson (15:11) broke past the Stars defense to score on a breakaway. As time was winding down in the second period, the Stars got the game to 3-2 with a power-play goal from Michael Colella (18:51)
Late into the final period, the Lancers scored back to back open net goals. The first coming from Aleksi Peltonen (17:44) followed by Jaxon Nelson (18:42). The Lancers took the win 5-2 against the Stars to close out the weekend rivalry series. The Lancers are now 20-21-4-4 with 48 points on the year.
