Lancers Sweep Force in Weekend Series

Lancers Gain Sixth Place in Western Conference

FARGO, ND - The Omaha Lancers swept the Fargo Force in a weekend series at Scheels Arena with a final score of 3-2 on Saturday night.

In the second period, the Lancers scored the first goal of the night. Blais Richartz (4:37) received a pass from Harry Roy to beat Ryan Bischell. The Force would answer back though with a goal from Michael Kesselring (14:42) to even the game 1-1. In the final seconds of the period, and on the power-play, Tyler Carpenter (19:46) in between the Force defense snapped a shot top shelf on Bischell to get the Lancers ahead 2-1 to end the period.  

In the third period, the Force evened the game 2-2 with a goal from Libor Zabransky (13:27) on the power-play. With the period coming to a close, Jan Kern (18:14) scored the game winning goal to get the win by a final score of 3-2.

The Lancers are now 22-21-4-4 with 52 points and now sit at 6th place in the USHL Western Conference.

The Lancers return to the ice on Friday, March 15th to face off against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Ralston Arena for Princess Night. Puck drop is at 7:35 pm. Listen live all season long on the Lancers flagship station The Mighty KOIL News Talk 1290 AM radio or view the game via HockeyTV.com.
