GREEN BAY, WI - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Green Bay Gamblers in game two of the weekend series on Saturday night by a final score of 5-3.
In the first period, Jan Kern (4:53) scored to get the Lancers ahead 1-0. Kern was assisted on the goal by Bryce Brodzinski and Chase Bradley. The Gamblers answered back-to-back goals, one being on the power-play, to take a 2-1 lead. With time winding down, Aleksi Peltonen (19:48) jammed the puck past Maxim Zhukov to tie the game 2-2.
The Lancers broke the tie in the second period with a goal from Bryce Brodzinski (8:13). Later into the second period, Jaxon Nelson (15:00) got the Lancers ahead 4-2. Bryce Brodzinski (16:57) added another goal on the night with a backdoor goal on Zhukov to close the period with a 5-2 lead.
In the third period, the Gamblers would score on the power-play to get the game 5-3. The Lancers kept the Gamblers at bay with a Green Bay empty net to finish the game with a win and a final score of 5-3.
The Lancers improve to 25-24-4-4 on the year with 58 points.
