Buccaneers Shutout Lancers, 2-0

URBANDALE, IA - The Omaha Lancers hopes of a playoff berth came to a halt after the Des Moines Buccaneers shut them out 2-0, and a Sioux City win on Friday night.

After two scoreless periods, the Buccaneers broke the tie at 10:57 when Jack Perbix snapped the puck from the slot past Akira Schmid. Later on in the final frame, and on the power-play, the Buccaneers finished off the Lancers at 19:15 with Mac Welsher finding twine.

The Lancers are now eliminated from the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs and are currently 26-25-4-4 on the year.

The Lancers return to the ice on Saturday, April 6th at Young Arena to battle the Waterloo Black Hawks. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm. Listen live all season long on the Lancers flagship station, The Mighty KOIL News Talk 1290 AM radio or view the game via HockeyTV.com.
