Jack Randl will return as captain for 2019-2020 season

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers announced today that forward Jack Randl will be returning to the team and has been named the captain for the 2019-2020 season.

Randl (18, 19 tomorrow) spent last season with the University of Michigan Wolverines (NCAA) as a true freshman. In his first NCAA season, Jack played in 22 games and recorded one assist on the year.

“Jack embodies what it means to be an Omaha Lancer,” Head Coach and General Manager David Wilkie said. “His playing ability, his work ethic, the strength of character, leadership, and commitment to do whatever it takes is elite.”

Omaha’s tender pick in 2016, Randl has accumulated 51 points in 108 games with the Lancers.

“I’m very excited to be back with the Lancers organization and extremely honored to be named captain,” Randl said. “I’m looking forward to playing at Ralston Arena again in front of the best fans in the USHL.”

Prior to his debut at Michigan, Randl was the co-captain of the Lancers during the 2017-18 season where he scored an impressive 20 goals and 12 assists for 32 points in 49 games. Jack spent the year before that with the Lancers as well scoring 19 points as a sixteen year old in the USHL.

“We are absolutely honored to have him as our leader for the 2019-2020 Lancers team. It is difficult to put into words how happy and fortunate we are to have Jack back in Omaha again,” Wilkie said.

“I can’t wait for the season to get started,” Randl said with excitement.
