Lancers Select Eleven Players in USHL Phase I Draft

Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers selected 11 players in the USHL Phase I Draft Monday evening. Phase I of the Draft is ten rounds of “Futures” age players only, which are U-17 players for next year’s season. (2003 birth year players only for the 2019 Draft).

Here is the complete list of the Lancers Phase I picks:

ROUND 1 | PICK 4: Bennett Schimek, Forward (Gentry Academy Galaxy 15’s)

ROUND 3 | PICK 35: Hudson Thornton, Defenseman (Rink Hockey Academy Nationals  Midget Prep)

ROUND 3 | PICK 42: Nikita Tarasevich, Forward (Detroit Little Caesars 15’s)

ROUND 3 | PICK 46: Tyler Dunbar, Defenseman (Soo Thunderbirds MMAAA)

ROUND 4 | PICK 57: Tyler Procious, Defenseman (Buffalo Jr. Sabres 16U)

ROUND 5 | PICK 65: Nicholas Von Kaufmann, Goaltender (Vaughan Kings MMAAA)

ROUND 5 | PICK 75: Colin Doherty, Defenseman (Chicago Young Americans 16U)

ROUND 6 | PICK 80: Shawn O’Donnell, Forward (Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U)

ROUND 7 | PICK 95: Alexander Babich, Forward (Chicago Mission 15’s)

ROUND 10 | PICK 140: Drew Jeffers, Defenseman (Detroit Compuware 16U)

ROUND 10 | PICK 147: Jackson Morehouse, Forward (Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U)

 

“We are extremely happy with our 2019 Phase I draft picks," Head Coach David Wilkie said.  "We feel that we have a really solid balance of positional players that will most certainly add a lot of different dimensions to our hockey team moving forward. The Omaha Lancers would like to welcome and congratulate all of our new players drafted tonight.”
