RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers have announced today the hiring of Nick Hart as the teams Athletic Trainer.

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the Omaha Lancers organization,” Nick Hart said.

Hart, Lincoln, NE native,  spent the past 3 seasons with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He spent two years prior in upstate New York as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Elmira College (NCAA Division III).

"We are very excited to welcome Nick abord with the Omaha Lancers," President Dave DeLuca said. "His experience in the USHL and prior knowledge with the Lancers working under Bill Nervig made him the perfect fit for our organization."

“Experience is critical to being a good Athletic Trainer and taking care of our players daily is a huge undertaking," General Manager and Head Coach David Wilkie said.

Prior to his time at Elmira College, Hart served as an Athletic Training Student Intern with the Omaha Lancers.

“I was fortunate to be able to spend the 2013-14 season interning with the Lancers and to experience first hand the history and tradition of the organization,” Hart said. “Having the opportunity to learn from Bill Nervig was invaluable and I cannot thank him enough for all that he has done for me both personally and professionally. I have big shoes to fill but can’t wait to return to Omaha.”

Hart earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and recently graduated with a master's of science degree in education from Elmira College.

"Nick checks off all the boxes that this job requires and we are beyond ecstatic to be able to add him to our Lancer family. Nick understands the Lancer culture and his learning curve and adjustment process for him will be minimal. We would like to welcome Nick and his family to Omaha," Wilkie said.

Preseason starts on Tuesday, September 10th when the Lancers take on the Topeka Pilots (NAHL) at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm on the Auxiliary Ice Rink.
