RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (1-1-0-0) will play host to two Western Conference home-opening games this weekend in Kearney, and Sioux City.
The Lancers will continue regular season play returning to the midwest after the 2019-2020 season kicked off last week at the USHL Fall Classic in Pennsylvania. The Lancers left Cranberry Township, PA splitting their record 1-1 after taking a 4-1 win over the Madison Capitols on Thursday, followed by a loss on Friday to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 4-1.
The Lancers will battle in-state rival, Tri-City Storm on Friday, October 4th. This will be the first time these two teams will face off in the regular season after 3 showdowns this preseason. Tri-City comes into Friday’s game with a record of 0-1-1-0 after the Fall Classic. The Storm was taken down in over-time to the Waterloo Black Hawks, 2-1 and then lost to the Youngstown Phantoms, 5-2. Friday will be the first of nine times the teams will face each other this year. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm at the Viaero Center in Kearney, NE.
The opening weekend on the road continues in Sioux City as the Lancers will face the Musketeers. After this year's USHL Showcase, the Musketeers returned to Sioux City with an 0-2-0-0 record. The Musketeers were taken down by the Chicago Steel 3-2 and were shutout 4-0 by Team USA. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA.
