Lancers add Ryan Sorkin and Tomas Mazura

Lancers deal Huggins for Sorkin, Add Mazura

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers have added forward Ryan Sorkin from the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a trade deal today.

In the deal, the Lancers traded affiliate defenseman Bryan Huggins (2002) in exchange for Sorkin (2001).

Sorkin, a Chicago, IL native, is in his first USHL season. In 5 games with the Lumberjacks, the forward recorded 1 goal. Prior to the USHL, Sorkin played for the New Jersey Rockets of the NCDC scoring 43 points in 50 games.

“Ryan is a player with a good pedigree,” Head Coach and General Manager David Wilkie Said. “Right now with the injuries we have we have a definite need for players who can play the center position and he fills that bill should be a nice addition to our hockey team.”

Ryan is a product of Chicago Mission U16, Team Illinois U16, and Chicago Young Americans (CYA) AAA Hockey programs. Sorkin is committed to playing NCAA hockey at Dartmouth CollegeSorkin will be wearing number 13. 

The Lancers have also added Center, Tomas Mazura. The Pardubice, CZE native is currently playing at Kimball Union Academy. Mazura was a 6th Round Draft Pick to the Edmonton Oilers in the 2019 NHL Draft.
