DUBUQUE, IA - The Omaha Lancers did all they could against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday night but were defeated by a final score of 2-1.

In the first period, the Fighting Saints got the first goal of the night scored by Dylan Jackson (4:04). The Lancers tied the game 1-1 when Christian Berger (13:59) found the rebound off of an Alex Campbell shot. The Fighting Saints would take back the lead near the end of the period at 17:01.

No goals were scored in the second period. Nearing the end of the third period, and still down 2-1, the Lancers pulled Dobes for the extra attacker. With six skaters on the ice, the Lancers contained the puck in their offensive zone and peppered Portillo with shots. Jack Randl had an amazing one-time chance to beat Portillo o the back door, but the goaltender robbed the Lancers captain of the chance with the glove. The Fighting Saints held on as time expired to win over the Lancers with a final score of 2-1.

The Lancers are now 3-5-2-0 on the year and will face off against the Sioux Falls Stampede tomorrow for Military Appreciation Night. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm at Ralston Arena.
