Lancers Sweep Lumberjacks in Weekend Series, 5-2

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers swept the Muskegon Lumberjacks over the weekend by winning Saturday night with a 5-2 final score. 

Muskegon struck twice in the opening period to earn themselves a 2-0 lead. Late in the opening frame, Ryan Lautenbach (19:13) tucked the puck into the net of Noah Giesbrecht to get the Lancers on the board, 2-1.

In the second period, the Lancers opened up the flood gates. Logan Will scored early at 1:22 to even the game 2-2. Late into the period, Christian Berger would get Omaha their first lead of the night at 18:31 making the score 3-2. 

In the third, the Omaha attack continued as Ross Mitton earned his third goal of the season at 5:25 to get the Lancers ahead 4-2. Nearing the end of the period, and on the power-play, Grant Anderson sniped the puck past Giestbrecht to solidify the win for Omaha for a final score of 5-2. The Lancers are now 7-7-3-0 on the year. 

The Lancers are back in action on Wednesday to take on the Tri-City Storm in Kearney, NE. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM and all of the action can be heard on News Talk 1290 and seen on HockeyTV.
