RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (12-9-5-0) will take on in-state rival Lincoln Stars twice this weekend.
The Lancers have won three straight games since the conclusion of the USHL Holiday break. The Lancers returned from the Holiday break last Friday in Sioux Falls to sweep the Stampede in a two-game weekend series. After that, the Lancers traveled to Sioux City where they crashed the New Years’ Eve Party taking down the Musketeers 6-4. The Lancers are 6-2-2-0 in their past ten games played, and currently, sit at 4th place in the USHL Western Conference.
The Lancers and Stars have met twice this season where both teams have won. The Stars spoiled the Lancers home opener on October 12th winning 6-1. The Lancers returned the favor beating Lincoln 6-2 at the Ice Box on November 8th.
The Stars come into the weekend series off of a 6-3 loss on New Years’ Eve to the Tri-City Storm. The Stars have a 13-11-1-2 record and sit tied for fourth with the Lancers.
Puck drop on Friday night at the Ice Box is set for 7:05 pm. The Lancers will play host to the Stars on Sunday, January 5th at 5:35 PM. It’s also Undie Sunday, fans are encouraged to bring in unopened packages of undergarments to be given out to Least of Our Brethern to help homeless in the Omaha and Council Bluffs metro.
