RALSTON, NE - The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced today the All-USHL First Team recipients. Winners for the All-USHL teams are determined by a vote of League general managers.

Alex Campbell was named to the All-USHL 1st Team Honor. Campbell shares the league recognition with Forwards Brendan Brisson (CHI), Riese Gaber (DUB), Defensemen Owen Power (CHI), Mitchell Miller (TRI), and Goalie Erik Portillo (DUB).

“It’s a huge honor,” Campbell said, “it’s such a good league filled with tons of great players so being selected for this is really cool.”

Campbell, a 3rd Round Draft pick of the Nashville Predators in 2019, appeared in 46 games in his first USHL season. The Forward recorded 57 points, which lead the Lancers in scoring and placed Campbell 6th in the USHL among Top-Scorers.

“We had a really special group,” Campbell said, “It’s too bad we did not have the chance to finish what we’ve been working towards all year.”

Campell totaled 18 goals and 39 assists for the Lancers during the 2019-2020 season and averaged 1.24 Points-per-Game. Campbell recorded a 13 game point streak during the season dating from January 24th to February 23rd totaling 22 points.

“Being surrounded by great players and coaching staff allowed a lot of our players, including myself, to have success individually as well,” Campbell said.

“He [Campbell] was everything and more in what we hoped that he would be in his transition from the BCHL to the USHL,” General Manager and Head Coach David Wilkie said. “He was an amazing player to coach, a leader who helped forge the path for our team through his tireless work ethic. He always treated people with the utmost regard and respect and his contributions within our hockey club will be missed. Alex in his one season as a Lancers has no doubt cemented his place as one of the greatest players to wear the jersey.”

Campbell will be attending Clarkson Univesity this fall.
