DESKINS NAMED ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, DIRECTOR OF SCOUTING

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers have announced the hire of Jason Deskins as Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting.

“It’s an honor to be named the Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting,” Deskins said. “I am very grateful to Anthony DiCesare and David Wilkie for their support in bringing me back to Omaha.”

Before taking the position with the Lancers, Deskins spent time with the Maryland Black Bears (NAHL), Honeybaked U15 and U16 squads, Port Huron Fighting Falcons (NAHL), and the Detroit Falcons U16 team. 

“Jason has worked with us before and we are extremely fortunate to have been able to bring him back in an expanded role within the club,” General Manager and Head Coach David Wilkie said. “He is very good at what he does, he fits well in our group and I look forward to working with him on a daily basis.”

Before his Coaching and Scouting career, Deskins played NCAA Hockey at Miami University serving as Captain for two seasons, spent time in the ECHL with the Trenton Titans, Arkansas RiverBlades, Dayton Bombers, Phoenix Roadrunners. Deskins also appeared in the United Hockey League (UHL) with the Quad City Mallards. 

“I look forward to working with Coach Wilkie and the entire staff in building on the already exciting core of players that they have put together,” Deskins said. “I want to thank Anthony DiCesare, David Wilkie, David Nies, Colten St. Clair, Kirk Luedeke, and the entire Lancer organization for trusting me to be a part of their historic franchise. I will give nothing but my very best every day to ensure that the Lancers are in a position to achieve our goal of bringing the Clark Cup back to Omaha.”

Deskins and the Omaha Lancers Hockey Staff will now prepare for the 2020 USHL Draft. Phase I of the USHL Draft is set to start on May 4th, followed by Phase II on May 5th.
