NCHC POD LEADS LANCERS ALUMNI BACK TO OMAHA

The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) will resume play for the 2020-21 season at Baxter Arena in Omaha, NE for the “NCHC Pod” where all of its eight-member teams will report. 

With all eight NCHC teams reporting to Omaha, a handful of Lancers Alumni players will be making their return for the collegiate season. 

Colorado College: Logan Will (Freshman): Will spent three seasons with the Lancers (2017-2020) where he appeared in 113 games. In his USHL career, the Ames, IA native recorded 45 points. 

Miami University: Ben Lown (Senior): Lown played one season with the Lancers in 2016-17 before heading to Miami. In his USHL career, he appeared in 53 games, totaling 24 points. Brian Silver (Freshman): Silver spent three seasons with the Lancers (2017-2020). The Forward appeared in 109 games with the Black and Orange and totaled 29 points in his USHL career. Ryan Savage (Sophmore): Savage came to Omaha in a deal with the Fargo Force. While in Omaha, Savage appeared in 53 games and totaled 27 points. Savage was then traded to the Muskegon Lumberjacks where he finished out the 2018-19 season. 

Minnesota-Duluth: Noah Cates (Junior): Cates played one season with the Lancers (2017-18) where he appeared in 64 games and recorded 58 points. The Stillwater, MN native was drafted in 2017 by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fifth round, 137th overall. In his first season at UMD, the Bulldogs won the 2018-19 NCAA Championship. The forward also played at the 2018-19 World Juniors where he recorded 3 points in 7 games. 

Nebraska-Omaha: Jack Randl (Sophmore): Randl, spent three seasons with the Lancers (2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19) and made a stop at the University of Michigan (2018-19). With the Lancers, Randl was named the Captain twice, appeared in 158 USHL games, and totaled 59 points. Nolan Krenzen (Freshman): Krenzen spent most of his USHL career with the Sioux City Musketeers, but was acquired by the Lancers during the 2019-2020 season where he played 13 games. In his time with the Lancers, the defenseman totaled 6 points. Joe Abate (Sophmore): Abate played 12 games for the Lancers in the 2017-18 season before being traded to the Youngstown Phantoms. At UNO, Abate played in 31 games and totaled 18 points. 

St. Cloud State: Nick Perbix (Junior): Perbix played one season with the Lancers where he played in 60 games. The defenseman totaled 31 points. Perbix was also a 6th round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017. In his NCAA career, Perbix has played in 73 games and recorded 35 points. Chase Brand (Sophmore): Brand came to Omaha from the Brookings Blizzard (NAHL) in the 2017-18 season where he played in 12 games totaling 1 goal. The following season, Brand was traded to the Madison Capitols where he led the squad in scoring with 53 points in 62 games played. Chase has played in 31 games for the Huskies and has totaled 12 points. 

Western Michigan: Cole Gallant (Junior): Gallant came to the Lancers after playing with the Fargo Force in the 2016-17 season. During the 2017-18 season, Gallant became the Captain for the Lancers and played in 63 games, and notched a total of 58 points. Since being at Western Michigan, Gallant has played in 57 games and has recorded 30 points for the Broncos. Daniel Hilsendager (Freshman): Hilsendager came to Omaha in a trade with the Muskegon Lumberjacks during the 2018-19 season. The defenseman appeared in 74 games for the Lancers, was named an Alternate Captain, and totaled 29 points. In his USHL career, Hilsendager played in 101 games. 

Denver: Hank Crone (Sophmore): Crone played one full season with the Lancers during 2014-15 and part of the 2015-16 seasons where he appeared in 64 games and recorded 15 points. He was then traded to the Fargo Force.
