Lancers Fall to 3rd In USHL West

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers fell to the Tri-City Storm by a final score of 3-1 on Saturday night after being tied 1-1 until the midway point of the third period. 

In the first period, Ayrton Martino (2:17) chipped the puck past Connor Hopkins for his fourth goal this season. The Storm evened the game on their first power-play chance of the night when Cole McWard (8:52) was called on the goal after the puck took an odd bounce in over the shoulder of Jakub Dobes.  

After a scoreless second period, the Storm took their first lead of the night when Mark Estapa (10:41) scored netting the puck during a scramble in front of Dobes. The Lancers pulled Dobes for an extra attacker late into the period. After a mishandle in the Lancers offensive zone, Matthew Knies (19:01) took shot the puck in the empty net for a final score of 3-1. 

The Lancers are now 13-11 on the year with 26 points. Omaha is now in third place in the West, with Tri-City taking the second-place spot. They’ll face off again against the Storm tomorrow in Kearney. The puck drop is at 6:05 PM and all of the action is on MixLR and HockeyTV.
