Former Lancers' Head Athletic Trainer & Equipment Manager, Bill Nervig, Advances To Hockey's Biggest Stage.

GLENDALE, AZ. - The Omaha Lancers want to congratulate former Head Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager, Bill Nervig as he accepted the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer for the National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes just last week.

With now nearly 23 years of experience of working in hockey, Nervig spent two decades of that time with the Lancers.

Joining the Lancers organization for the 1999-00 season, and staying through the 2018-19 season, Nervig was with the Lancers as they won two Anderson Cups in 2005 & 2008 for being regular season champions. As well as two Clark Cups in 2001 & 2008 for winning the league championship.

After the 2018-19 season, Nervig was informed by another former Lancers' employee, Jordan Ellis, that there was a possible opportunity available for him with the American Hockey League's Tucson Roadrunners, a direct affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes.

Nervig landed the job with the Roadrunners, and served as Head Athletic Trainer from 2019 to December, 2021.

Earlier this season, Nervig was brought up to the Arizona Coyotes to serve as a fill-in athletic trainer for a game. Giving him his first NHL experience. And just over a month later, he picked up the Assistant Athletic Trainer job for the Coyotes.

Ellis was then promoted by the Tucson Roadrunners to Head Athletic Trainer upon Nervig's departure.

The Lancers' family thanks Bill Nervig for his hard work and dedication throughout the years, and wishes him luck for his journey ahead!
