The Lancers Remain In Fourth Place In The West As They Enter A Three-Game Week.

OMAHA, NE. - The Lancers came off a hard fought loss to the Sioux City Musketeers last night (3/18) and are coming in tonight as they attempt to take down the Lincoln Stars for the fifth time this season, as the Lancers are hungry to seal their spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs.

The first period wrapped up with the Stars out front, 1-0.

5:39 into the first Lucas Wahlin found the back of the net on a feed from Mason Marcellus from the corner, beat Omaha goalie Kevin Pasche over the blocker on the one-timer, giving Wahlin his 15th goal of the season.

The second period started hot for the Stars as just 30 seconds in, Marcellus netted his ninth goal of the season off feeds from Wahlin and Aiden Thompson. Giving Lincoln the 2-0 lead and giving Marcellus and Wahlin a multi-point night already.

It wasn't until 4:24 left in the second period when the Lancers finally found the back of the net.

Alex Bump toe-dragged around Joey Pierce after picking up a pass from Chris Hedden and sent a snapshot over the glove of Lincoln goaltender, Kaiden Mbereko to cut the lead in half to make it a 2-1 game.

Four minutes into the third period of play Lucas Wahlin scored his second of the night and picked up his third point of the evening with Thompson getting his second point of the night with the assist on the play, giving the Stars a 3-1 lead.

The final goal of the night came on an empty netter with 2:15 left in the game off the stick of Griffin Jurecki to seal a 4-1 victory for Lincoln.

The Lancers remain in fourth place in the western conference standings with still an 11 point gap over the fifth place Waterloo Black Hawks.

The Lancers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 23rd as they start a five game road trip in Sioux Falls. Puck drop is at 7:05PM CST. That game can be caught on Mixlr and HockeyTV.
