Charlie Lurie, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has just over one full season’s worth of USHL experience in the form of 65 regular season games and five Clark Cup Playoff matchups. With half of those games being played in a Fargo Force uniform, and half with the Youngstown Phantoms.

In Lurie’s time with Fargo, he played a total of 31 games, 27 of which, happened in the 2021-22 season. In those 27 games, Lurie was a top point-getter for the Force with 18 points (7G-11A-18P).

In mid-January when Lurie’s trade took place, he continued his great offensive season with the Phantoms, where he tallied 21 points in 34 games (8G-13A-21P), finishing the season in third place in point-getting for Youngstown with a grand total of 39 points on the year (15G-24A-39P).

In coming to Omaha, the Minnesota Native will be just a few miles away from his future home of Baxter Arena as he is committed to play Division I College Hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha after the conclusion of his junior hockey career.

The other forward the Lancers acquired in this trade is Justin Stupka of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Stupka was drafted by Youngstown 106th overall in the 2021 USHL Draft while still playing 16U AAA hockey in his hometown for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U AAA squad.

In the 2021-22 season with the Penguins, Stupka notched an impressive 80 points in 79 games played (34G-46A-80P). On top of that, he was pulled up to the Phantoms and played in three regular season games, tallying two points (1G-1A-2P). He made his USHL debut back on January 7, 2022, in a 3-1 home win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The other two games he played with Youngstown were the final two regular season games in a split home-and-home series with Team USA.

The Lancers’ organization welcomes Lurie and Stupka just a few days before their 40-Man Camp, which kicks off on July 27, 2022.
