Ralston, NE -- The Omaha Lancers’ announced the hiring of Brandon Hofstra as Director of Media Relations and Broadcaster Wednesday morning.
Hofstra, a native of Omaha, has been around media and hockey for most of his life. Hofstra found his love for broadcasting while starting at out as an intern for KUOO Radio in Okoboji, IA. From there, Hofstra attended The University of Iowa studying Journalism and Mass Communication, while working as a News Producer for KGAN CBS 2 News in Cedar Rapids, IA.
“I’m beyond excited and humbled for this opportunity,” said Hofstra. “I am very eager for the season to start and determined to bring new and exciting content to our great fans.”
After spending two years at KGAN, Hofstra transferred to Wayne State College in Wayne, NE where he finished his degree in Mass Communications and Electronic Media. While at WSC, he was the go to media person in and out of the classroom. He worked very closely with WSC Athletics and helped run game day operations along with sports media. Hofstra was also the Vice President of WSC Media Club, an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Reporter for the Wayne Stater Newspaper, and winner of the Nebraska Collegiate Media Association “Golden Leaf” award for “Best in News Reporting.”
