Kearney, NE -- The Omaha Lancers faced Tri-City for the second time this pre-season and Zach Driscoll was outstanding with 37 saves in a 3-1 win.
The Lancers got on the board quickly in the first period. Joey Abate opened up the scoring with help from Brendan Furry and Nick Perbix. A quick shot from Furry led to a deflection off of goaltender Harrison Feeney. Abate was there to put the puck into the net to put Omaha up 1-0 over Tri-City.
In the second period, Omaha kept on the attack when Ben Perkins scored five minutes in to give the Lancers a 2-0 leader over the Storm. Joey Abate brought the puck in the far left-side to Perkins who got his first goal of the pre-season.
In the third period, Andy Nedeljkovic scored a shorthanded breakaway goal to put Omaha up 3-0 over Tri-City. John McDermott answered back with a goal to break Driscoll's attempt at a shutout night. Lancers took the win 3-1 over the Tri-City Storm.
The Lancers return to the ice facing the Lincoln Stars Sunday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Ice Box.
Omaha opens up regular season play Friday, October 6th against Tri-City at Ralston Arena.
