Lancers Make Multiple Trades

Ralston, NE -- The Omaha Lancers announced multiple trades Wednesday afternoon with the Fargo Force, Youngstown Phantoms, Green Bay Gamblers and the Des Moines Buccaneers. Lancers also called up affiliate player Aaron Grounds.

Aaron Grounds comes to Omaha from Minot Minotauros of the NAHL. Grounds played in 18 games with the Minotauros this season. Grounds, the 6'2" 174lbs forward and White Bear Lake, MN native, is also committed to play college hockey at The Ohio State University. 

In the deal with Green Bay: Omaha traded a 2018 6th round Phase 2 draft pick and Green Bay traded defenseman Grant Anderson to Omaha. Anderson an affiliate of Green Bay, played 11 games for the Janesville Jets and 2 games for the Gamblers this season. Anderson is committed to play college hockey in Omaha at The University of Nebraska Omaha. Anderson also spent part of his childhood growing up in Omaha.

In the deal with Des Moines: Omaha traded Forward Marshall Rifai for future considerations. Rifai played in 13 games for the Lancers and totaled 6 points on the season. 

In the deal with Youngstown: The Lancers traded Forward Joey Abate and a 2018 8th Round Phase 2 draft pick. Youngstown traded a 2018 7th Round Phase 2 and 2019 5th Round Phase 2 draft pick. Abate played in 12 games for the Lancers and totaled 1 point on the season.

In the deal with Fargo: The Lancers traded a 2018 5th Round Phase 2 draft pick and future considerations. Fargo traded Omaha Defenseman, Cam Ginnetti. Ginnetti, a Vancouver native, played in 13 games for the Force this season. Ginnetti was also named the 1st Team All-Star in the BCHL last year and is committed to play college hockey at Clarkson University.
