LINCOLN, NE -- The Lancers returned to action to face the Lincoln Stars at a sold-out Ice Box on Saturday. Omaha has won all three of the previous matchups. The Lancers called on Zach Driscoll to play between the pipes. Driscoll received his 5th shutout of the season on Friday night making 25 stops against the Stars. Driscoll is also ranked second among all goaltenders in the USHL with a 1.83 GAA and a .932 SV%.
Omaha found the back of the net just fifteen seconds into the first period. Jack Randl was notched with the opening goal for Omaha scoring on Derek Schaedig. Omaha held on to the 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, Jack Randl threw the puck into traffic and was rewarded with his second goal of the night. Nearing the midway point of the second, Cole Krygier snapped the puck past Driscoll to get Lincoln on the board. Omaha held the 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
Late in the third period, Lincoln pulled Schaedig but was unsuccessful with the extra attacker. The Lancers held for the win 2-1.
Zach Driscoll stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced.
The Lancers improve to 21-10-2-0 with 44 points in the Western Conference.
