Lancers Break Storms Heart on Valentines Day

Driscoll gets sixth shutout in 1-0 Win

Kearney, NE -- It was a match made in heaven for a Valentine's Day date as the Lancers and Storm met up on Wednesday night. This was the seventh matchup this season with both teams being tied at 3 wins in the series. Omaha, looking to continue their win streak (8-0-1) while Tri-City is looking for their first win in 5 games. The Lancers called on Zach Driscoll to play in net. Driscoll is second among all goaltenders in the USHL. Driscoll has a 1.81 GAA and a .932 SV%. The Storm called on the top goaltender in the league, Filip Larsson. 

It was not until the third period until the game got its first goal. Michael Maloney broke the tie scoring on the team he started the season with. Maloney found the puck in the slot to snap it past Larsson. Tri-City pulled Larsson for the extra attacker but was unsuccessful. The Lancers held on to win, 1-0. 

Zach Driscoll stopped all 38 shots that he faced as he received his sixth shutout of the season. 

The Lancers improve to 27-10-2-1 with 57 points sitting atop the USHL.
