Ralston, NE - The Lancers and Stars battled again at Ralston Arena on Saturday night. This was the sixth meeting between the two teams. The Lancers called on Zach Driscoll to play between the pipes. Driscoll is ranked second among all goalies in the USHL with a 1.78 GAA and a .938 SV%. The Lancers were also skating for a greater cause on Saturday night for their annual “Pink in the Rink” night.
In the first period, Lincoln struck first on the power play. The Stars kept on the attack and scored again on Driscoll to get a 2-0 lead. Filip Suchy soon took the game into his own hands when he scored two goals on two power plays to even the score 2-2.
The Stars took the lead again in the second period with a goal from Logan Jenuwine. Lincoln held the 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.
Late in the third period, Omaha pulled Zach Driscoll for the extra attacker on the power play. As the power play expired and with Driscoll still out of the net, the Stars capitalized with a goal. The Stars topped the Lancers for the first time this season, 4-2.
Driscoll stopped 25 of 28 shots.
The Lancers are now 28-11-2-0 and still sit atop the USHL with 59 points.
