Muskegon, MI - Game two of the weekend series between the Omaha Lancers and the Muskegon Lumberjacks took place on Saturday night at L.C. Walker Arena. Omaha took game one on Friday night winning 4-2. Vinnie Purpura received the nod to play between the pipes. Vinnie is ranked 9th in the league among goalies with a 2.47 GAA and a .914 SV%
In the first period, Marc Del Gaizo got the Jacks on the board beating Vinnie Purpura on the power play. With under five minutes to play, Filip Suchy (31) tied the game up. Suchy took a one-time pass from Cole Gallant to beat Keegan Kari.
In the second period, Nick Perbix (5) scored on the power play. Omaha held on to the 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
In the third period, Mick Kohler (9) gave Omaha a two-point lead. Nearing the end of the period with an empty net and on the two-man advantage, Muskegon scored on the power play. Omaha held their ground to take the win and to sweep the Lumberjacks in the weekend series, 3-2.
Purpura stopped 28 shots.
The Lancers improve to 34-16-2-3 with 73 points.
