Kearney, NE -- The season series finale between the Omaha Lancers and the Tri-City Storm took place on Wednesday night at the Viaero Center. The Lancers hold the series lead with a record of 5-2-0-1 going into the night. Zach Driscoll got the call to play between the pipes. Driscoll is ranked third in the league among goalies with a 2.05 GAA, and a .928 SV%.
In the first period, Ryan Savage opened the scoring in the dying minutes. Savage and Ethan Price came into the zone on a two-on-one. Savage took the shot from the right hash, burying it past Jake Barczewski for his first goal as a Lancer.
Filip Suchy had the only goal in the second period on a tip from a Christian O’Neill shot from the slot. Suchy now has 66 points and is one point out of tying up the league's top scorer (Anthony Del Gaizo 67 pts).
Omaha continued the scoring in the third period. Cole Gallant redirected a shot from Nick Perbix at the point to put the Lancers up by three. The Lancers took the win with a final score of 3-0. Omaha took the season series against Tri-City, 6-2-0-1.
Driscoll stopped all 30 shots that he faced, giving him his 7th shutout of the Season. Driscoll improves his record to 20-9-0-7 and has a 4-2 record against Tri-City.
The Lancers improve to 35-16-2-3 and 75 points. Omaha has now moved up to second place in the USHL Western Conference.
