Lancers vs Stars
Friday, April 13, 2018
Ralston Arena, Ralston, NE
As quickly as it began, it is coming to an end. Tonight the Lancers will face off against their bitter rivals, the Lincoln Stars in the season series finale. The series between Omaha and Lincoln is still in the Lancers favor, even though Omaha has dropped the past three games to Lincoln. The Lancers will need tonight's win to continue to hold their second place spot and secure a first-round bye in the 2018 Clark Cup Playoffs.
Big Number 3
Tonight will be Lancers forward and Lincoln native, Ethan Price’s last game against the Stars. Price started his USHL season in his hometown with the Stars. Price played 30 games for Lincoln in the 2014-15 season and totaled 9 points. Ethan then played in the WHL with the Victoria Royals before being picked up by his ex-AAA Coach and now head coach of the Lancers, David Wilkie. Price has played 55 games this year with 27 points and proudly wears the A for his squad. Tonight will be Ethan’s 330th game of Junior Hockey.
Omaha’s magic number is three to receive a coveted first-round bye. If Waterloo loses in regulation this weekend, and Omaha wins both games at home, then the Lancers will finish in first place. If Fargo loses tonight, the Lancers will be locked in for a first-round bye with a win of any fashion against the Lincoln Stars.
If the Lancers keep second or move to first, Round 2 Game 1 will be Saturday, April 21st at Ralston Arena.
If the Lancers fall to third place, Round 1 Game 1 will be on Monday at Ralston Arena, start time 7:05.
Tonight's game 9 in the rivalry series. Omaha brings in a record in the series of 5-2-0-1 and Lincoln with 3-4-0-1
