Black Hawks get Tyler Young and Phase 2 Pick

RALSTON, NE - Omaha Lancers Head Coach and General Manager David Wilkie announced today the Lancers have acquired defenseman Peter Tabor from the Waterloo Black Hawks in exchange for Tyler Young (Affiliate List) as well as a fifth-round pick in the 2019 phase 2 draft.

Tabor, 18, a native of Edina, MN, started his career in the USHL with the Black Hawks in 2016-17. During that time, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman played in 9 games with the Hawks, while making appearances with the Minnesota Blades (U18) and Holy Family Cross. Last season, Tabor played in 37 games with Waterloo and totaled 7 points.

Overall, Tabor is a veteran of the USHL. He has posted 8 points, including an assist against the Lancers in January 2018, in 46 career games.

“He [Tabor] is a big, strong, tough and left-shot defenseman,” Wilkie said. “We felt that we needed a few more veteran defenseman that could play of the left side and Tabor certainly is a great fit for this hockey team this season.”

Lancers fans have got a chance to see Tabor in action during the Lancers Main Camp last month.
