RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers announce a trade deal with the Tri-City Storm, just days after the Lancers Development Camp.
In the deal, Omaha sends defenseman, Jacob Willets (99) in exchange for a 2019 11th Round Phase 2 Draft Pick.
Willets was drafted by Omaha round 6 86th overall in the 2018 Phase II Draft. The defenseman spent last season in the NAHL with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
“Jacob is a good hockey player," Head Coach David Wilkie said. "However, with the emergence of a few of our young prospects and us getting a few players back that were scheduled to go to college this year. We felt it was necessary to give him an opportunity to play elsewhere this season within the league.”
Omaha is set to start the regular season against the Waterloo Black Hawks at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA. The Lancers will then face off against the Tri-City Storm for the 2018 home opener on Saturday, October 5th at 7:05 pm. To see the Lancers home schedule click here.
