Prokop Commits to Miami University

Ralston, NE - Omaha Lancers first-year defenseman, John Prokop announced his commitment to play college hockey at Miami University (Ohio).

Prokop, a 2001 birth year, spent the 2017-18 season playing Wausau West High School. The defenseman tallied 30 points (6G, 24A) in 24 games played last season. Along with playing for Wausau High School, Prokop also wore the white and red for Team Wisconsin U15 and U16 squads.

“John is an outstanding young defenseman with a bright future in the game," Head Coach David Wilkie said. "We are extremely happy that he will be playing in Omaha this season with us.”

Prokop is the third current Lancer committed to Miami (Ryan Savage, Trevor Peca).

Omaha is set to start the regular season against the Waterloo Black Hawks at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA. The Lancers will then face off against the Tri-City Storm for the 2018 home opener on Saturday, October 5th at 7:05 pm.
