Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers were defeated by the Tri-City Storm on Thursday night with a final score of 4-2.
The Lancers got on the scoreboard first with a goal belonging to Logan Will. Will found the puck loose in the paint to chip over Jake Barczewski. Moments later, the Storm evened up the game with a goal from Blais Richartz. Richartz crossed the blue line with two defensemen in front of him, shot the puck far side and caught Vinnie Purpura off guard. The game stayed tied 1-1 going into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Storm took the 2-1 lead with a goal coming from Artyom Borshyov. Later in the period, Jan Kern found the back of the net on Barczewski to tie up the game again. That was Kern’s 3rd goal in two games with the Lancers. The game stayed tied at 2 heading into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Storm took back the lead as Jake Crespi took a feed from Joe Molenaar to snipe the puck past Borgiel. Nearing the end of the period, the Lancers pulled Borgiel for an extra attack but were unsuccessful as the Storm scored on the empty net to take a 4-2 win over the Lancers.
The Lancers return to the ice on Saturday, October 22 vs the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm and can be seen and heard on HockeyTV.
