Lincoln, NE - The Lincoln Stars beat the Omaha Lancers 3-2 in the final game of the preseason.

The Lancers struck first in the opening frame on their third power play opportunity. Cam Ginnetti took a slapshot from the blue line that rebounded off of Lance Leonard to the stick of Ryan Savage (18:12) who put the puck in the net. The Lancers kept the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Stars evened the game 1-1 on the power play when Vill Rasanen (12:12) scored on Vinnie Purpura. The Lancers gained the lead again later in the period when Jerry Harding (18:35) worked the puck deep into the Stars zone to score on a backhand shot.

The Stars picked up momentum in the third period scoring two goals within two minutes of each other. The Lancers pulled Purpura for the extra attacker but could not score on Leonard. The Stars topped the Lancers with a final score of 3-2.

The Lancers begin the regular season on Saturday, September 29th against the Waterloo Black Hawks at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic.
