Lancers Add Net Presence with NHL Drafted Goaltender

Kucharski traded to Lancers by Buccaneers for a forward, draft pick

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers made a deal on Wednesday morning with the Des Moines Buccaneers.

Goaltender Jacob Kucharski was traded to the Omaha Lancers by the Des Moines Buccaneers for a forward and AN exchange OF 2020 draft picks.

The 19-year-old goaltender had a 3.56 GAA and a .881 SV% with the Des Moines Buccaneers last season.

Kucharski brings a USHL veteran presence to the Lancers goaltending core with 29 games played in the league. The Erie, PA native recorded 13 saves in the 2018 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game, was named to U.S. Junior Select Team for World Junior A Challenge, and was a B-rated goaltender by the NHL Central Scouting Report.

Kucharski was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2018 NHL Draft (7th round, 19th overall), and is committed to play college hockey at Providence College.

As well as acquiring Kucharski, the Lancers received a 2020 sixth-round Phase 1 Pick from the Buccaneers.

Des Moines receives forward Tiernan Shoudy, 2002 born affiliate list player from Michigan, a 2020 sixth-round phase II pick, and a 2020 third-round Phase I Pick.
