RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers fell to the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday night at Ralston Arena to a final score of 7-1.

In the first period and on the penalty kill, Jan Kern (7:20) broke past the Saints defense for a breakaway to score on Matthew Thiessen. Moments later and on the power-play, Ty Jackson (8:04) scored on Jake Kucharski to tie the game at one. As the period continued, the Fighting Saints took the lead when Derek Contessa (13:02) received the puck atop of crease to deke around Kucharski. The Fighting Saints held the 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

In his first game as a Lancer, Nikita Krivokrasov (9:57) found the puck inside of the crease to put it past Thiessen. The Fighting Saints answered back with two more goals in the middle frame and held a 4-2 lead going into the second intermission.

In the third period, the Fighting Saints continued on the attack and did not look back scoring three more times. Dubuque topped Omaha with a final score of 7-2. The Lancers are now 2-4-0-0.

The Lancers return to the ice on Sunday, Oct. 21st vs the Tri-City Storm at the Viearo Wireless Arena in Kearney, NE. Puck drop is set for 4:05 pm and all of the action can be caught on KOIL News Talk 1290 and HockeyTV.
