WEEKLY PREVIEW: HALLOWEEN HOME STAND

LANCERS BATTLE TRI-CITY AND DES MOINES AT HOME

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (3-4) ready themselves for a two-game weekend at Ralston Arena.

Friday, October 26th the Lancers face off against the Tri-City Storm (6-1-1-0) for the third time this season. The Lancers and Storm have both taken a win against one another this season. The Storm beat the Lancers in Omaha on Saturday, October 6th 5-1 and the Lancers edged the Storm 3-2 in overtime last Sunday. The Storm leads the Western Conference with 13 points.

Saturday, October 27th the Lancers will take on the Des Moines Buccaneers for Scare Away Cancer night. The Buccaneers (5-4) have lost the past two games they’ve played; 3-0 vs Sioux City, 6-2 vs Tri-City. The Lancers will be wearing specialty Halloween jerseys sponsored by MCL Construction for Scare Away Cancer.

 

Lancers Notes:

  • Logan Will leads the Lancers in points 6 (3-3-6).

  • Mathieu De St Phalle and Jaxon Nelson are tied in assists at 3 each.

  • Vinnie Purpura comes into the weekend with a 2-3 record, a 3.22 GAA and a .886 SV%.

  • Jackson Decker leads all Lancers defenseman with a +3 rating.

IF YOU MISSED IT:

  • Brendan Furry received his first point in his first game played on Sunday vs Tri-City.

  • Michael Colella will return after a one-game suspension.

  • Kalle Eriksson scored his first USHL goal on Sunday to win the game.

THE OPPONENTS:

TRI-CITY:

  • Jake Crespi (4-3-7) and Brad Morrissey (2-5-7) lead the Storm with 7 points each.

  • Filip Forsmark has dished out 5 assists on the year.

  • Isiah Saville is the second best-ranked goaltender in the USHL with a 1.65 GAA and a .938 SV%. Saville stopped 28 of the Lancers 31 shots on Sunday night.

DES MOINES:

  • Matt Brown is the USHL’s second-leading scorer (9-5-14) and top scorer for the Buccaneers.

  • TJ Walsh comes in at second among all Buccaneers with 10 points this season.

  • Scooter Brickey leads all defenseman with a +5 rating and has dished out 5 assists.

  • Roman Durney has a 4-3 record in net and has collected a 2.84 GAA and .907 SV%.
