WEEKLY PREVIEW: THREE-GAME WEEKEND

LANCERS FACE STORM, AWAY AND HOME WITH ROUGHRIDERS

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (5-6-0-1) open up the weekend with a Friday night game at Ralston Arena followed by an away game in Cedar Rapids, then back home to close the weekend on Sunday.

Friday, November 9th the Lancers will take on the Tri-City Storm for the second time this week. The Lancers took a big win in Kearney on Tuesday beating the Storm with a 4-2 final. The Lancers and Storm are tied up in their season series 2-2. The Lancers are 2-1-0-1 against the Storm this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 pm.

Saturday, November 10th the Lancers will travel to Cedar Rapids to face the Roughriders for the first time this season. The Roughriders are 6-3-2 with 14 points and sit at 4th place in the USHL Eastern Conference. The Lancers only faced the Roughriders once last season. It was the first USHL win for Head Coach David Wilkie in his career. Opening faceoff is set for 7:05 pm.

Sunday, November 11th the Lancers will return to Ralston Arena to face the Roughriders again to close out the weekend. Puck drop at 4:05 pm.

 

Lancers Notes:

  • Brendan Furry has been on an 11-point streak in 6 games played. Furry also leads the Lancers in points with 4 goals and 7 assists.

  • Bryce Brodzinski has been on a 4 game tear earning 8 points (3g, 5a). Brodzinski has totaled 10 points in 8 games played.

  • Jackson Decker leads all Lancer's defensemen with a +3 rating.

  • Akira Schmid earned his first win on Tuesday in Kearney. The goaltender stopped 46 of the 48 shots he faced to get the Lancers a 4-2 win.

  • Kalle Eriksson leads all Lancers defenders in points with 5 (1G, 4A).

TRI-CITY: The Storm (8-3-1) are off of two back-to-back losses, Friday, Nov. 2nd vs Des Moines and Tuesday, Nov. 6th vs Omaha. The Storm currently sits at 4th place in the USHL Western Conference with 17 points.

  • Zac Jones leads the Storm in points with 8 (1G, 7A)

  • Five Storm Forwards are totaled with 7 points on the year; Crespi, McMenamin, Molenaar, Forsmark, Morrissey.

  • Isaiah Saville has the most starts in net for the Storm (9) with a 1.72 GAA and a .931 SV%. Saville has stopped 55 of the 59 Lancers shots this season.

CEDAR RAPIDS:  The Roughriders (6-3-2) came out of last weekend 1-1 at home taking a 3-2 win against Madison and then a  7-2 loss against Green Bay.

  • Nathan Smith leads the Roughriders in scoring with 11 points (2G, 9A).

  • Mitchell Miller carries all defenseman in scoring with 5 points (1G, 4A).

  • Blake Pietila has the most starts in net (10) with a 6-2-2- record. Pietila currently holds a 2.45 GAA and a .915 SV%.
