WEEKLY PREVIEW: TWO AT HOME

LANCERS WILL BATTLE USA AND SIOUX FALLS AT HOME THIS WEEKEND

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers (6-8-0-1) will face off on Friday and Sunday this weekend for an out of conference and conference game.

Friday, November 16th the Lancers will face off against the Nations best, as Team USA NTDP 18U will travel to Ralston Arena. The Lancers faced NTDP earlier this season for the final game of the 2018 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA. USA got the win in the Lancers second game of the season with a goal in the dying seconds of the game. This will be the first USHL for USA as they return from the 5-Nations Tournament. Puck drop on Friday night is set for 7:35 pm.

Sunday, November 18th the Lancers will take on the Sioux Falls Stampede. It will be the first time the two teams have faced off this season. The Stampede is off of back-to-back losses last weekend. Sioux Falls currently sits at 6th place in the USHL Western Conference with a 6-5-1-1 record and 14 points.

 

Lancers Notes (6-8-0-1):

  • Brendan Furry leads the team in scoring (6-7-13) in 9 games played with 13 points.

  • Ryan Savage had himself a 4-point weekend. Scoring 2 goals and an assist at Cedar Rapids, and an assist on Sunday nights win vs Cedar Rapids.

  • Kalle Eriksson leads all Lancers defenders in points with 8 (2-6-8).

  • Akira Schmid came out of last week with a 2.71 GAA and a .917 SV%. The goaltender has a 1-3 record.

  • Travis Mitchell leads the League in Shots (Defense) with 44.

  • Jan Kern leads the League in Shooting Percentage (Overall) with 11 shots, 5 goals at 45.5%.

 

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

  • Vinnie Purpura has been traded to Youngstown for a 2019 Phase II 4th Round Pick.

  • Michael Colella has been assigned back to the P.A.L Islanders (NCDC).

  • Akira Schmid is officially a Lancer after a deal was finished with the Corpus Christi Icerays (NAHL).

TEAM USA NTDP (5-5-0-1 Collectively):

  • Cole Caufield leads USA with 9 points (7-2-9) in 5 games played.

  • Jack Hughes, the potential #1 Overall Pick of the 2019 NHL Draft, leads USA in points produced with 7 assists on the season (1-7-8).

  • Defensively, Cam York has dished out 5 assists for the Red-White-and-Blue.

  • Case McCarthy holds the best +/- rating for NTDP at +6.

  • Cameron Rowe has 2 wins in net with USA, a 3.58 GAA, and a .871 SV%.

 

  • SIOUX FALLS (6-5-1-1):

  • Artem Ivanyuzhenkov leads Sioux Falls in points with 10 (5-5-10).

  • Cade Borchardt has produced the most assists on the season with 6 (3-6-9).

  • Ryan Johnson has the best +/- for the defenseman at +2 and the most points for all Sioux Falls defenders with 7 points (1-6-7).

  • Jaxson Stauber and Chad Veltri have split the season in net for the Stampede.

    • Stauber 3-3 record with 7 games played has a 3.01 GAA and a .883 SV%.

    • Veltri 3-2-1-1 record in 7 games played brings a 3.81 GAA and a .870 SV%.
