RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers announced a trade deal with the Chicago Steel on Friday morning, hours before puck drop.
The Lancers receive defenseman Jaden Shields (1999) and a 2019 Phase II 2nd Round Pick from the Steel. In return, the Steel receives a 2019 Phase I 8th Round, 2019 Phase II 11th Round, and a 2020 Phase I 1st Round Draft Pick.
Shields spent last season with the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League. The Royal Oak, MI native tallied 29 points in 57 games played in the NAHL. This year with the Steel, the five-foot-eleven, one-hundred and ninety-pound, right-handed defenseman played in 7 games.
The Lancers have sent Ben Perkins (1999) to the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL for future considerations.
The Lancers return to the ice tonight, Friday, November 16th to face Team USA NTDP 18’s. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 pm and all of the action can be heard on KOIL Newstalk 1290 AM and HockeyTv.
